I’m Sabina, the teacher behind Fashion Business English, and a fashion and language enthusiast from a very young age. After a decade of working in international trade in the UK, the Netherlands, and Italy, I decided to undergo a complete career change and dedicate myself to English teaching. This led me to train as an English language teacher at the Chartered College of Teaching, London in 2009.
After moving to La Coruña once I completed my training, and working as an English teacher, I later began collaborating with the sustainable fashion platform Slow Fashion Next for several years. Having taught numerous fashion professionals at the same time, and becoming aware of their need for English classes that are specialised in their sector, I finally decided to combine my two great passions, fashion and English, and so, Fashion Business English was born.
Todas estas experiencias me han servido para entender las necesidades de los distintos profesionales del sector, tanto como los métodos y técnicas que realmente funcionan y marcan la diferencia.
All of these experiences have helped me understand the needs of different professionals within the fashion industry, as well as the learning methods and techniques that really work and make a difference.
That’s why I place the utmost importance on oral practice, mainly through simulations of real-life situations, such as interviews, negotiations with suppliers, or project presentations.
In addition to this, I consider it essential to create a dynamic and enjoyable atmosphere in my classes, so that my students don’t have to be afraid of expressing themselves in English.
